Victoria Gil is currently enjoying a post-master fellowship at Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL), Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, under the supervision of Dr. Ricardo M. Trigo. Her main activity develops within the STORMEx project: Mid-latitude North Atlantic Extreme Storms Variability: Diagnosis, Modeling Dynamical Processes and Related Impacts on Iberia.
Previously from Jul-1999 to feb-2002 she worked for the company METEOTEMP as a technical weather forecasts. The following two years she enjoyed a post-graduate fellowship at National Institute of Meteorology of Spain (currently known as AEMET), where she took part in the MEDEX International Project about cyclones that produce high impact events in the Mediterranean. Between 2004 and 2008 she worked at the University of Castilla La Mancha in two different projects “Development and evaluation of a ensemble weather prediction system for limited area” and “Optimizing winter road preventative treatments”. From 2009 to 2012 she worked at the Regional Meteorological Institute of Castilla La Mancha (Imetcam) as researcher within the operational forecasting and applications area.
