Bio

I have been studying droughts since 2009, participating in two projects: the FCT PTDC/AGR AAM/71649/2006: "Gestão do risco em secas: identificação, monitorização, caracterização, predição e mitigação" (Managing Drought risk: identification, monitorization characterization, prediction and mitigation) and the PTDC/GEO-MET/3476/2012: “Avaliação da Predictabilidade e hibridação de Previsões sazonais de seca na Europa Ocidental –PHDROUGHT”.

Currently starting my PhD under the supervision of Professor Carlos Pires from IDL and co-supervised by Professor Luis Santos Pereira and Professora Ana Ambrósio Paulo from CEER. The PhD project named “Drought seasonal predictability related with atmospheric variability and its impacts in agriculture” is financed by FCT.

Education

  • Currently – PhD scholarship SFRH/BD/92880/2013: “Drought seasonal predictability related with atmospheric variability and its impacts in agriculture”.
  • 2012: Finished the Master Degree in Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Agronomy (ISA), University of Lisbon. The theme of the dissertation was: “Spatial and temporal variability of precipitation and drought in Portugal”.
  • 2010: Degree in Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Agronomy, University of Lisbon.
