Andreia Ribeiro is currently a pre-doctoral researcher at the IDL (Instituto Dom Luiz) working on the FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) project PHDROUGHT, under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Pires. Her research focus is on the main atmospheric precursors of droughts and test of hybridization techniques for seasonal drought predictability. Previously, Andreia contributed for a FCT project about temporal changes in sea-level variability, with her focus on changes in extreme sea-levels, under the supervision of Dr. Susana Barbosa. Her research has led to conference communications (national and international) and publications in peer-reviews journals as main author.
In 2013 she finished the MSc in Geophysical Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Her thesis was based on statistical downscaling of air temperature for agronomic applications. In 2011 she finished the degree in Geophysical Sciences, also at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Her degree project was conducted at the Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Lisbon.
